Hudson Smith made a splash no matter where he played. He didn't allow a single earned run while striking out eight over six innings pitched. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in strikeouts. He was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances. Those runs marked the first that he scored this season.
