Douglas County's Anthony Graves recorded the longest rushing play in AAAAAA Region 3 this season in his game against East Coweta last week. Graves' team fell to the Indians as he sprinted for 82 yards on the play and finished with 87 in all.
Hughes extended the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating Tri-Cities, 17-13. The victory was the sixth in a row for the team.
Douglas County's Ellis Richardson and Graves have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Richardson has thrown for 1302 yards this season, while Graves has 27 catches for 379 yards. Hughes' Keion Davis leads the league in rushing yards with 820.
A big matchup in AAAAAA Region 3 this week will be when East Coweta takes on Newnan. As it stands, the Indians are in third, while the Cougars are in second.
The Panthers and the Bulldogs played the most hotly contested game in the league this week, with the Panthers eventually emerging with a 17-13 victory.
