St. Bede's pitching crew heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Thursday. They blew past Lowpoint-Washburn 13-0. The Bruins might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 22 contests by six runs or more this season.
Hannah Heiberger made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit while striking out eight over five innings pitched. Heiberger was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs and two RBI.

In other batting news, Ava Balestri was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. She is on a roll when it comes to RBI, as she's now brought in three or more in each of the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Lily Bosnich, who went 2-for-3 with two doubles, one stolen base, and two RBI.
St. Bede kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 16 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least nine hits in nine consecutive matchups.
Meanwhile, after only two runs in their last game, Dwight made sure to put some runs up on the board against Newark on Tuesday. The Trojans put the hurt on the Norsemen with a sharp 12-6 win. The Trojans not only won on Tuesday, but they posted their biggest win since April 9th (when they won 18-0).
Madi Ely spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered six runs (all of which were unearned) on five hits and racked up 13 Ks.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Elizabeth Hansen, who went 3-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and two doubles. That's the most runs she has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of McKenna Woodcock, who went 2-for-4 with four stolen bases, two runs, and one double.
Dwight's victory bumped their record up to 7-17. As for St. Bede, their win bumped their record up to 27-4.
Dwight's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: St. Bede has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .498. It's a different story for Dwight, though, as they've only averaged .356. Will they be able to contain St. Bede's hitters?
Everything went St. Bede's way against Dwight when the teams last played back in April, as St. Bede made off with a 14-1 victory. Will the Bruins repeat their success, or do the Trojans have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
