The Sheldon Panthers's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their third straight defeat. They were beaten by Hume 62-12. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Sheldon has scored all season.
Wynsdae Connelly was Sheldon's leading scorer, having posted five points.
Sheldon's defeat was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 7-16. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 19.3 points per game. As for Hume, the victory was the 13th in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 19-2.
Sheldon will head out on the road to challenge Northeast Vernon County at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Sheldon focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 30 on Thursday. As for Hume, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 61-13 win vs. Greenfield on the 9th.
