It was a good run, but the Southern California Yeshiva Hawks unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Saturday. They suffered a tough 75-49 defeat at the hands of San Diego Jewish Academy. Southern California Yeshiva lost against San Diego Jewish Academy in their previous head to head back in January of 2023, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 37-30 score last time.
Zachary Eiseman and Nadav Aron certainly did their best on Saturday to try and avoid the loss. Eiseman scored 19 points, while Aron scored 14 points. The game was Aron's seventh in a row with at least ten points.
San Diego Jewish Academy found their leader in underclassman Ethan Abeles, who scored 20 points along with nine rebounds and five assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Jacob Rissman, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 11 rebounds.
Southern California Yeshiva's defeat dropped their record down to 6-5. As for San Diego Jewish Academy, their win bumped their record up to 6-7.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Southern California Yeshiva will take on The Cambridge School at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. As for San Diego Jewish Academy, they will look to defend their home court on Monday against Classical Academy at 6:30 p.m.
