Canyon faced Esperanza in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Monday. The Comanches never let the Aztecs get on the board and left with a 21-0 win. The Comanches might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight games by 21 points or more this season.

The critical scores for Canyon came from Caroline Hicks, Katy Cott, and Sophie Punsalang.

Canyon didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Cott, Ella Feldhaus, and Punsalang picked up one apiece.

The victory was the seventh in a row for Canyon, bringing their record up to 14-1. Those wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 34.6 points over those games. As for Esperanza, with the defeat, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 12-4.

Coincidentally, Canyon and Esperanza will both be playing Crean Lutheran the next time they take the field. The Comanches will head out to face the Saints at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, while the Aztecs will host them at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
