Tabernacle is on a 20-game streak of home wins, while Success Unlimited Academy is on a three-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. The Tabernacle Torches will take on the Success Unlimited Academy MUSTANGS at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Tabernacle posted their biggest victory since December 4, 2023 on January 6th. Everything went their way against Pineview Christian as Tabernacle made off with a 42-21 victory. Given Tabernacle's advantage in MaxPreps' Alabama basketball rankings (they are ranked 108th, while Pineview Christian is ranked 327th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Meanwhile, Success Unlimited Academy got the win against IMG Academy on Saturday by a conclusive 70-46.
Success Unlimited Academy got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Nakai Depina out in front who scored 20 points along with seven rebounds and five assists. Depina is absolutely dominating the point category: he's posted at least 15 every time he's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Timmorian Williams, who scored 20 points along with six rebounds and two blocks.
Tabernacle has been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 11 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 13-3 record this season. As for Success Unlimited Academy, their win bumped their record up to 9-4.
Tabernacle beat Success Unlimited Academy 84-76 in their previous matchup back in February of 2023. Does Tabernacle have another victory up their sleeve, or will Success Unlimited Academy turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
