On Wednesday, the Crespi Celts faced the Sierra Canyon Trailblazers in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Crespi had just enough and edged the Trailblazers out 64-61. The victory was familiar territory for Crespi who now have three in a row.
Crespi was led to victory by Peyton White and Joe Sterling. White almost dropped a double-double on 13 points and nine rebounds, while Sterling scored 20 points along with five rebounds and three steals. Sterling is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 17 or more in the last four games he's played. Another player making a difference was Carter Barnes, who scored seven points.
Crespi is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 23-6 record this season. As for Sierra Canyon, their defeat ended a 26-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 24-2.
Crespi and the Wolverines will face off at 7:00 p.m. on February 2nd without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Harvard-Westlake knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past six matches -- so hopefully the Celts like a good challenge. Sierra Canyon does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
