The Coastal Christian Centurions will square off against the Hoggard Vikings at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams are coming into the match red-hot, with Coastal Christian sitting on three straight victories and Hoggard on 12.
Coastal Christian proved they can win big last Thursday (they won by three) and on Monday they proved they can win the close ones too. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-2 win over Cape Fear Academy.
Coastal Christian got the W, but it wasn't easy, at least in the fourth set. The final score came out to 25-22, 25-18, 19-25, 29-31, 16-14.

Pasey Hodges was a one-woman wrecking crew as she had 17 digs and three aces. That's the most aces she has posted over her last six matchups.
They weren't the only good servers: Coastal Christian was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 14 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least 11 aces in three consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, Hoggard got the win against New Hanover on Thursday by a conclusive 3-0.
The 3-0 score doesn't show just how dominant Hoggard was: they took every set by at least 12 points. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-7, 25-13, 25-10.
Coastal Christian better keep an eye on Lydia Maughan. She was instrumental in Hoggard's win, getting eight digs and four aces.
Hoggard's victory bumped their record up to 16-3. As for Coastal Christian, their win bumped their record up to 12-9.
Coastal Christian couldn't quite get it done against Hoggard in their previous meeting back in August of 2024 as they fell 3-1. Can the Centurions avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
