The Caldwell Bluejays can finally bid farewell to their 23-game losing streak dating back to last season thanks to their game on Friday. Everything went their way against Central as Caldwell made off with a 44-24 victory. Caldwell's offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.
Caldwell found their leader in underclassman Ava Newell, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and ten rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Newell has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Kennedy Lowery, who scored ten points along with eight rebounds and two steals.
Caldwell's win ended a nine-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 1-11. As for Central, they dropped their record down to 3-10-1 with that loss, which was their sixth straight at home.
Caldwell will take on the Wildcats at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Central, they will head out on the road to take on the Red Raiders on Tuesday.
