Millennium 4-star is the Suddenlink Arizona Player of the Year.
Millennium's DaRon Holmes captured 2019-20 Suddenlink Arizona Player of the Year honors after a terrific junior season that saw the 6-foot-9 forward average 23.7 points, 10.6 rebounds, 3.8 blocks and 3.1 assists per game.
He guided Millennium to the state title game, averaging 28.5 points, 12.3 rebounds and 3.5 blocks per game through four state tournament games. The Tigers fell in the state title game for the second consecutive year, losing their first game to an in-state opponent this season.
Millennium competed against a national schedule, including traveling to the Washington Tournament of Champions, Hoophall West and Beach Ball Classic.
Holmes was a dominant force inside, posting 21 double-doubles in 30 games this season. He also shot 64 percent from the field and was a deterrent on defense with four or more blocks in half the Tigers' games.
According to 247Sports, Holmes has a dozen Division I offers. Both teams that played in the 2019 national championship game – Virginia and Texas Tech – have offered, along with Arizona, Arizona State, UCLA and USC among others.
