Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a  season-high score is even better (just ask Emerald). They blew past the Southside Tigers, posting  a  55-0 victory. The Vikings haven't had any issues with the Tigers recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive  win against them.
 Christopher Dean had another great game (as  he tends to do), rushing for 101 yards and a pair of  TDs on only seven carries, while also picking up 34 receiving yards. Another player making a difference was  Beau Hite, who threw for 200 yards and two  touchdowns on only 16 passes.
 Emerald didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of  Tyrell Wesley and  Michael Holloway.  Jalon Dunlap was another major factor on D,  picking up  a  sack and making 12 total tackles (2.0 for loss).
Emerald's  victory was their first in the region, bumping their region record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 4-4. As for Southside, their loss dropped their record down to 0-8.
 We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Emerald will  take on  rival Fountain Inn  at 7:30  p.m.  on Friday. Meanwhile, Southside is set to  square off against  their familiar foe Wren  at 7:30  p.m.  on Friday.
