Humphrey/Lindsay Holy Family fought the good fight in their overtime matchup against the Wisner-Pilger Gators on Tuesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Gators by a score of 61-59. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their last game last Thursday (55), Humphrey/Lindsay Holy Family still had to take the loss.
Despite the loss, Humphrey/Lindsay Holy Family still got an impressive performance from Claire Korth, who shot 5-for-10 from downtown and dropped a double-double on 32 points and 13 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Korth has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Abilyn Schneider, who scored eight points along with five rebounds.
Wisner-Pilger's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Emerson Bellar, who dropped a double-double on 21 points and 13 rebounds. Nevaeh Brown was another key contributor, scoring 18 points along with five rebounds and three steals.
Humphrey/Lindsay Holy Family dropped their record down to 4-9 with that loss, which was their fourth straight at home. As for Wisner-Pilger, the victory got them back to even at 6-6.
Humphrey/Lindsay Holy Family will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Madison. Hopefully Madison focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 18 last Saturday. As for Wisner-Pilger, they will head out on the road to square off against Pender at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Pender is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt want to keep things rolling.
