The Pinecrest Academy Paladins will be playing in front of their home fans against The King's Academy Knights at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Pinecrest Academy's favor is that they have now posted big point totals in their last four matches.
Last Friday, Pinecrest Academy got themselves on the board against Creekside Christian Academy, but Creekside Christian Academy never followed suit. They claimed a resounding 43-0 win over the Cougars at home. The result was nothing new for Pinecrest Academy, who have now won three matches by 20 points or more so far this season.
Meanwhile, The King's Academy had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 11.5 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They blew past Calvary Christian 27-3. The score at the end of the third wound up being the final score as The King's Academy just coasted through the last quarter.
The King's Academy can attribute much of their success to Will Johnson, who threw for 148 yards and three touchdowns. The King's Academy also got a significant boost from Jaxon Bone, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 122 yards.
Their wins bumped Pinecrest Academy to 3-3 and The King's Academy to 5-2.
Pinecrest Academy came up short against The King's Academy in their previous matchup back in October of 2022, falling 20-12. Thankfully for Pinecrest Academy, Thomas Lubben (who rushed for 272 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 9.1 yards per carry) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result? There's only one way to find out.
