Given Wilbur-Creston-Keller's advantage in MaxPreps' Washington basketball rankings (they are ranked 27th, while Almira-Coulee-Hartline is ranked 108th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Almira-Coulee-Hartline lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Naomi Molitor, who scored 14 points. The matchup was Molitor's third in a row with at least ten points. Peyton Roberts was another key contributor, scoring ten points.
The win was the third in a row for Wilbur-Creston-Keller, bringing their record for this year to 3-0. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 54.3 points per game. As for Almira-Coulee-Hartline, they now have a losing record at 2-3.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Wilbur-Creston-Keller will square off against Wellpinit at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Almira-Coulee-Hartline, they will head out on the road to face off against Valley Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Valley Christian is coming into the game on a three-game losing streak.
