Alexandria City managed to slip by Forest Park the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Titans lost 11-2 to the Bruins on Tuesday. Having soared to a lofty 14 runs in the game before, the Titans couldn't push the score so high this time.
Alli Goetz was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring a run while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances. Zaria Edwards also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.
Meanwhile, Edison earned a 10-7 victory over South County on Tuesday.
Zoey Meyer made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she tossed 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one walk in three consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with two RBI.
In other batting news, Jazmyn Roberson was excellent, going 2-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Marley Jackson, who went 1-for-2 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.
Edison was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .500. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as South County only posted a batting average of .294.
Edison is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-5 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.2 runs over those games. As for Alexandria City, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-8.
Alexandria City might still be hurting after the 17-7 loss they got from Edison when the teams last played back in March of 2024. Can the Titans avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
