Walhalla hasn't had much luck against West-Oak recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Razorbacks will be playing in front of their home fans against the Warriors at 6:00 p.m. Walhalla has given up an average of 7.2 runs per game this season, but Tuesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.
Walhalla lost 11-1 to Crescent on Thursday.
Walhalla saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Gabbie Bonnadies, who went 1-for-2 with one double and one RBI.
Meanwhile, West-Oak had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 9.3 runs) and they went ahead and made it four on Thursday. Everything went their way against the Green Wave as they made off with a 10-1 win. The Warriors might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine contests by six runs or more this season.
Cassie Stoltzfus spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on four hits and racked up 14 Ks. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks in eight consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, West-Oak let Abi Blackwell and Kylie Perkins run wild. Blackwell went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs, while Perkins went 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. That's the most RBI Perkins has posted over her last 11 matchups. The team also got some help courtesy of Savana Jones, who went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.
West-Oak hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least four batters in six consecutive games.
West-Oak's victory bumped their record up to 9-3. As for Walhalla, their loss dropped their record down to 4-6.
Walhalla might still be hurting after the 12-1 defeat they got from West-Oak in their previous matchup on March 7th. Can the Razorbacks avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
