It was a good run, but the Stayton Eagles unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Friday. They suffered a tough 57-36 defeat at the hands of North Marion. While losing is never fun, Stayton can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Oregon basketball rankings (they are ranked 123rd, while North Marion is ranked 29th).
Despite the loss, Stayton still got an impressive performance from Kaden Holm, who scored 12 points along with six rebounds. Ean Dillingham was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with seven rebounds.
Stayton's loss dropped their record down to 7-6. As for North Marion, their win was their eighth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 11-4.
Stayton will square off against Cascade at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Cascade knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past nine games -- so hopefully Stayton likes a good challenge. As for North Marion, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Philomath at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Philomath is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
