The Camp Point Central Panthers put another one in the bag on Saturday to keep their perfect season alive. They blew past Red Hill 54-0 at home. Considering Camp Point Central has won nine matches by more than 31 points this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.
Leading Camp Point Central to victory were Drew Paben and Elijah Genenbacher. Paben rushed for 168 yards and a touchdown, while Genenbacher rushed for 128 yards and four touchdowns on only eight carries. Paben really tore up the turf during one magnificent 89-yard run. Nate Peters was another key contributor, rushing for 61 yards and a touchdown.
Camp Point Central's victory was their sixth straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 10-0. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 50.2 points per game. As for Red Hill, their loss dropped their record down to 5-5.
Camp Point Central will head out on the road to face off against Calhoun/Brussels at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. Calhoun/Brussels knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past five matches -- so hopefully Camp Point Central likes a good challenge. Red Hill does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
