On Friday, The Sahuarita Mustangs never let their opponents score. They took their game on the road with ease, bagging a 47-0 victory over Amphitheater. The score at the end of the third wound up being the final score as Sahuarita just coasted through the last quarter.
Imanol Silva and Malique Maro certainly did their best on Friday to try and avoid the loss. Silva threw for 226 yards and four touchdowns while completing 77.8% of his passes, while Maro rushed for 138 yards and a touchdown on only eight carries. Riley Robinson did his part for the team as well, scoring a TD off of 87 receiving yards.
Sahuarita's win bumped their record up to 2-7. As for Amphitheater, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-3.
Sahuarita will head out on the road to face off against Douglas at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Douglas will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak. Amphitheater does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
