If First Flight was feeling good fresh off their 21-6 takedown of Hertford County last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Nighthawks fell just short of the Holmes Aces by a score of 4-3 on Tuesday. The Nighthawks' loss signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.

Ben LaVier was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he struck out eight batters over five innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off six hits (and only one walk). What's more, he gave up only one walk, the fewest he's had since back in March.

First Flight's defeat dropped their record down to 8-6. As for Holmes, the victory was the ninth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 13-2.

While First Flight had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
