After losing to the Hamilton County Foxes the last time they met, the Fairfield Mules decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. Fairfield came out on top in a nail-biter against Hamilton County on Monday and snuck past 26-23. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Fairfield.
Despite the loss, Hamilton County had strong showings from Rayci Phelps, who scored 12 points along with nine rebounds, and Kalin Nichols, who scored seven points. Phelps scored a full 52.2% of Hamilton County's points, the seventh time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Fairfield's victory ended a nine-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 9-15. As for Hamilton County, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 8-9.
Coincidentally, the pair will both be playing Edwards County the next time they take the court. Fairfield will host Edwards County at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, while Hamilton County will head out to face them at 6:00 p.m. on January 22nd.
