The Morningside Academy Eagles waltzed into their game Monday with two straight wins but they left with three. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 67-65 victory over Donna Klein Jewish Academy. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
It was another big night for Damon Folds, who scored 30 points along with seven assists and five rebounds. He continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was James Bolton , who dropped a double-double on 13 points and ten rebounds.
Morningside Academy has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a nice bump to their 11-3 record this season. As for Donna Klein Jewish Academy, they have fallen quite a ways from their 12-5 record last season and are now at 3-6-1.
Morningside Academy will head out on the road to face off against Jensen Beach at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Donna Klein Jewish Academy, they have the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome Katz Yeshiva at 6:30 p.m. on January 9th. Katz Yeshiva is hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses.
