Hamden lost to Fairfield Prep 40-7 last week, the largest margin of any game. Francis Bonadies was a bright spot for the Green Dragons, as he threw for 49 yards and 1 touchdown in the defeat.
Mark Piccirillo was a passing and rushing force as Shelton fell to Xavier. He completed 7 passes for 91 yards and also ran for 112 yards. Piccirillo's favorite target this week was Kyle Drost, who caught 2 passes for 40 yards.
Piccirillo was the best running back in Southern Connecticut Division I - West this week. In 24 carries, he ran for 112 yards as the Gaels fell to the Falcons. Teammate Jason Thompson added to the ground attack by rushing for 77 yards.
Leading the league in both passing and receiving yards, Amity Regional's David Ryan and Benjamin Feola have proven to be a lethal combination. 6-3 quarterback Ryan has thrown for 1,692 yards this season, while Feola has 35 catches for 595 yards. Andrew Meoli from Xavier leads the league in rushing with 1,246 yards.
The most important game in the league this week will be the match up between the Jesuits and Sean Marinan's team. Fairfield Prep enters the contest ranked 13th in the state, while the Falcons ranks sixth.
The top two defenses in the league will face off this season when Tom Shea's team takes on Xavier. The Jesuits have allowed 159 points this season, while the Falcons have given up 180. Fairfield Prep allowed 7 points last week as it beat Hamden.
