Colton is a perfect 4-0 against Rialto since April of 2023 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Wednesday. The Yellowjackets will be playing in front of their home fans against the Knights at 3:45 p.m. One thing working in Colton's favor is that they have posted at least ten runs in their last four matchups.
Colton's pitching crew heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Monday. They put the hurt on Xavier Prep with a sharp 13-0 win. The result was nothing new for the Yellowjackets, who have now won eight games by six runs or more so far this season.
JASMINE CHACON looked comfortable as she pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on VALERIE VARELA, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with four RBI and one double. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was NATALIE CALDERA, who went 1-for-2 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI.
Colton was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .600. They are a perfect 10-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
For some reason, the away team has come away with the win the last four times Rialto and Eisenhower have met, but the home crowd finally got their W on Friday. The Knights fell just short of the Eagles by a score of 5-3.
Delilah Munoz was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3.
Colton is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-3 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.1 runs on average over those games. As for Rialto, their loss dropped their record down to 3-9.
Rialto's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Colton has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 12.1 hits per game. It's a different story for Rialto, though, as they've been averaging 9.2 hits. Given Colton's sizable advantage in that area, the Knights will need to find a way to close that gap.
Colton was able to grind out a solid win over Rialto in their previous matchup back in April of 2024, winning 6-3. Do the Yellowjackets have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Knights turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
