The Crane Medical Cougars put another one in the bag on Thursday to keep their perfect season alive. They took their match at home with ease, bagging a 70-14 victory over North Grand. Considering Crane Medical has won seven games by more than 24 points this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.
Crane Medical's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Shauntee Turner, who scored 14 points along with eight rebounds and five steals. Turner set a new season high mark in blocks with three. Sariah Allen was another key contributor, scoring 17 points along with eight steals and five rebounds.
Crane Medical pushed their record up to 9-0 with that win, which was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season. As for North Grand, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-3 record this season.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Crane Medical will be home for the holidays to greet Westinghouse at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Westinghouse will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Illinois Rankings (they are ranked 199th, while Crane Medical is ranked 39th). North Grand will be home for the holidays to greet Bulls College Prep at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
