The Miami Springs Golden Hawks will venture away from home to challenge the Mater Lakes Academy Bears at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Mater Lakes Academy took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Miami Springs, who comes in off a win.
Having struggled with eight defeats in a row, Miami Springs turned things around against Miami Country Day on Wednesday. They were the clear victors by a 19-1 margin over the Spartans. That 18 run margin sets a new team best for the Golden Hawks this season.

Brianna Snyder made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching three innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in strikeouts (five). She was also big at the plate, getting on base in all three of her plate appearances with three runs and one double.
In other batting news, Amanda Torres was incredible, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with four RBI, two runs, and one double. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high. Khrystine Gil was another key player, going 1-for-2 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run.
Miami Springs was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .455. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their batting average total in three consecutive contests.
Mater Lakes Academy couldn't beat Hialeah Gardens on Wednesday even though they stacked four runs on them in the third inning. The Bears lost 17-4 to the Gladiators. The Bears' loss continues a trend for the team, making it three in a row.
Mater Lakes Academy saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Nicole Regalado, who went 1-for-2 with one run and one double.
Mater Lakes Academy now has a losing record of 6-7. As for Miami Springs, their record is now 3-13.
Tuesday's matchup might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Miami Springs has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .487. However, it's not like Mater Lakes Academy struggles in that department as they've averaged .459. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Miami Springs couldn't quite get it done against Mater Lakes Academy when the teams last played back in February of 2017 as they fell 4-1. Can the Golden Hawks avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
