Make it 16 blowout wins for the Sickles Gryphons this season. They really took it to Blake for the full four quarters, racking up a 74-30 win on the road. The matchup was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 55-12.
Beckham Hockley was her usual excellent self, scoring 25 points. She is on a roll when it comes to points, as she's now scored 15 or more in the last 16 games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Kelsey Sharpe, who scored 11 points along with eight rebounds and seven assists.
Sickles is on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 13 games, which provided a nice bump to their 18-3 record this season. As for Blake, their defeat was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 5-10.
Sickles and Steinbrenner will face off at 6:30 p.m. on January 26th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Both teams are coming into the matchup red-hot, with Steinbrenner sitting on six straight wins and Sickles on five. Blake won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Spoto at 6:30 p.m. on January 25th. Hopefully Spoto focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 21 on Wednesday.
