The Carver Panthers's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight loss. They fell 24-14 to Cedar Grove. Carver has not had much luck with Cedar Grove recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.
Despite the defeat, Carver saw an underclassman step up: Lataious Stepp jr. rushed for 115 yards and a touchdown.
Carver's loss was their third straight at home, which bumped their record down to 2-8. As for Cedar Grove, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 6-5.
Carver will head out on the road to face off against Stephens County at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Stephens County presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Carver in Georgia (Stephens County is ranked 40th, while Carver is ranked 174th). As for Cedar Grove, they will be playing at home against Hebron Christian Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Hebron Christian Academy is coming into the match hot, having won their last three games.
