Elkhart Lake-Glenbeulah hasn't had much luck against Reedsville recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Resorters will take on the Panthers. Each of these teams will be battling to keep a three-game winning streak alive.
Elkhart Lake-Glenbeulah is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Wednesday. They won by a run and slipped past Oakfield 2-1. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Resorters have posted since May 5th.
Elkhart Lake-Glenbeulah saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Trayden Rebedew, who went 2-for-3 with one RBI.
Meanwhile, Reedsville got the win against Green Lake/Princeton on Thursday by a conclusive 10-1. The Panthers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 12 matchups by six runs or more this season.
Kodie Bubolz and Lucas Lodel made a big impact no matter where they played. Throwing, Bubolz tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Meanwhile, Lodel didn't allow a single earned run while striking out six over five innings pitched. Bubolz has been consistent for a while: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in 11 consecutive appearances. At bat, Bubolz went a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI, while Lodel went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and two RBI. That's the most RBI Lodel has posted since back in May.
In other batting news, Jack Schwahn was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Sawyer Ubersox, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
Reedsville was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .400. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Green Lake/Princeton only posted a batting average of .154.
Reedsville's win bumped their record up to 18-7. As for Elkhart Lake-Glenbeulah, their victory bumped their record up to 14-7.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Tuesday as neither team is afraid to steal. Elkhart Lake-Glenbeulah has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.8 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Reedsville struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 4.2 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Elkhart Lake-Glenbeulah might still be hurting after the 12-2 defeat they got from Reedsville in their previous meeting back in May. Can the Resorters avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
