Baseball Recap: Tioga Has No Trouble Against Dodd City

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Honey Grove, Tioga was happy to have turned things around on Friday. Everything went their way against the Dodd City Hornets as they made off with an 18-3 win. The Bulldogs might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six matches by nine runs or more this season.

Tioga got a massive performance out of Austin Norwood, who went 3-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. Norwood has become a key player for the Bulldogs: the team is undefeated when he posts at least three RBI, but 5-11-1 otherwise. Landon Bingham was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two triples, three runs, and one RBI.

Norwood wasn't the only one making solid contact: Tioga kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Dodd City only managed four hits.

With the victory, Tioga broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 8-11-1. As for Dodd City, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last eight contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-11 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Tioga will face off against Whitewright at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Bulldogs' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Tigers have averaged an impressive 7.2 runs per game this season. As for Dodd City, they will take on Honey Grove at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Warriors will roll in looking for their eighth straight win, something the Hornets surely won't give up without a fight.
