It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but the Oakland-Craig Knights ultimately got the result they hoped for on Friday. They secured a 65-59 W over Madison. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Leading Oakland-Craig to victory were Braylon Anderson and Isaak Maxwell. Anderson dropped a double-double on 16 points and ten rebounds, while Maxwell scored 21 points. Anderson is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last four games he's played. Another player making a difference was Mason Pearson, who scored six points.
Despite the loss, Madison still got an impressive performance from Jeremiah Sanchez, who scored 13 points along with six assists and four steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Jose Velez, who scored 17 points along with five rebounds.
Oakland-Craig's victory bumped their record up to 10-8. As for Madison, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 9-7.
Oakland-Craig is on the road again on Friday and plays the Cadets at 7:00 p.m. on February 9th. As for Madison, they will be playing in front of their home fans against the Warriors at 7:45 p.m. on Monday. Neligh-Oakdale has now lost seven straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 28.
