The Clayton Valley Charter Ugly Eagles will head out on the road to square off against the College Park Falcons at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Clayton Valley Charter will be looking to extend their current eight-game winning streak.

The Ugly Eagles sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 6-5 victory over the Bulldogs on Tuesday. Camdyn Alton spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and two unearned) runs on ten hits and racked up seven Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in six consecutive appearances.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Chloe Herico, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double. Anja Perreira was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one run and one RBI.
Meanwhile, College Park suffered their closest loss since April 1st on Tuesday. They fell just short of Northgate by a score of 6-4.
Nina Najafizadeh made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI. That double marked the first that she has hit this season.
Clayton Valley Charter pushed their record up to 13-5-1 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.8 runs over those games. As for College Park, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-10-1.
College Park's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Clayton Valley Charter has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 8.9 hits per game. It's a different story for College Park, though, as they've been averaging 9.1 hits. Given Clayton Valley Charter's sizable advantage in that area, the Falcons will need to find a way to close that gap.
