The Hardin County Tigers put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They walked away with a 29-22 win over White House. Given Hardin County's advantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee football rankings (they are ranked 44th, while White House is ranked 137th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
It was another big night for Carter Smith, who threw for 202 yards and a touchdown. Hardin County also got a significant boost from Jacob Saunders, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 87 yards.
Hardin County's win was their ninth straight at home (dating back to last season), bumping their overall record up to 11-0. It's not like the team was facing easy opposition over that stretch either, as it included 9-2 Haywood and 8-2 Giles County (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 57.8% over those games). As for White House, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost four of their last five matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-5 record this season.
Hardin County will be playing in front of their home fans against Marshall County at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. White House does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
