Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Ridgewood). They blew past the Hiland Hawks 20-0 on Monday. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Generals also won the last time the pair played back in March of 2024.
Ava Kulbacki and Pru Fechuch made a big impact no matter where they played. Throwing, Kulbacki struck out eight batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Fechuch tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Those eight strikeouts gave Kulbacki a new career-high. At the plate, Kulbacki went a perfect 4-for-4 with five RBI and two doubles, while Fechuch went 2-for-4 with three runs and one RBI.
In other batting news, Ridgewood got a massive performance out of Alexis Starkey, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, one triple, and one stolen base. Those three hits gave Starkey a new career-high. Miciah Cahill was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one double.
Ridgewood kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 17 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least ten hits in three consecutive matchups.
Ridgewood's win bumped their record up to 8-5-1. As for Hiland, their defeat was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-7.
