While Southwest DeKalb didn't have the best season last year (they finished 6-22), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They came out on top against the M.L. King Lions by a score of 2-0 on Tuesday. The win continues a trend for the Panthers in their matchups with the Lions: they've now won six in a row.

Not only was the match a shutout, it was a big one: Southwest DeKalb took both sets by at least 17 points. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-6, 25-8.

Southwest DeKalb's victory bumped their record up to 6-3. As for M.L. King, they are on a 16-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-5.

Coming up, Southwest DeKalb will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Columbia at 5:30 p.m. As for M.L. King, they will face off against Midtown at 6:30 p.m. on September 4.
