Venus is 0-10 against Alvarado since January of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Venus Bulldogs will be home for the holidays to greet the Alvarado Indians at 7:00 p.m. Both teams are coming into the match red-hot, with Venus sitting on seven straight victories and Alvarado on three.
Venus has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven matchups by 21 points or more this season. They simply couldn't be stopped on Friday as they easily beat Diamond Hill-Jarvis 70-38 at home. Given Venus' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 238th, while Diamond Hill-Jarvis is ranked 1364th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Meanwhile, even though Grandview scored an imposing 58 points on Friday, Alvarado still came out on top. Alvarado took their game against Grandview 71-58.
Venus is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine games, which provided a nice bump to their 14-4 record this season. As for Alvarado, they pushed their record up to 12-2 with that victory, which was their third straight on the road.
