Crescent is a perfect 8-0 against Walhalla since March of 2017 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Tigers will venture away from home to square off against the Razorbacks at 6:00 p.m. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
While Crescent's victory against Pendleton wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Tigers skirted past the Bulldogs 9-7. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Tigers have posted since March 14th.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Walhalla). Everything went their way against Carolina Academy on Monday as they made off with a 30-0 victory. The high-scoring effort was just what the Razorbacks needed considering they were shut out in their previous game.
Kaleigh Cothran made a big impact no matter where she played. She struck out eight batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and not a single walk). Cothran was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in all five of her plate appearances with four runs, one triple, and one RBI.
In other batting news, Alysee Payne was a standout: she went a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, four runs, and five RBI. Another player making a difference was Addison Lee, who went a perfect 5-for-5 with one home run, four runs, and five RBI.
Walhalla lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. That's the most home runs they've posted since back in March of 2024.
The win made it two in a row for Crescent and bumps their season record up to 15-6. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.5 runs over those games. As for Walhalla, their win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 2-12.
Everything went Crescent's way against Walhalla when the teams last played on April 11th, as Crescent made off with a 17-1 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Tigers since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
