It was a good run, but the Hammond Tornadoes unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Friday. They ended up on the wrong side of a rough 62-36 walloping at the hands of Amite. Hammond was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 36-11.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Amite to victory, but perhaps none more so than Hai?ley Brumfield, who scored 16 points along with eight rebounds and seven assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Kayla Toefield , who scored 12 points along with six assists and six rebounds.
Hammond's defeat dropped their record down to 9-4. As for Amite, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 11-1.
Hammond is on the road again on Saturday and play against Loranger at 3:00 p.m. on December 16th. Loranger will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Louisiana Rankings (they are ranked 210th, while Hammond is ranked 98th). Amite will be home for the holidays to greet Ponchatoula at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday.
