Two missed two-point conversions cost
Earle (Ark.) as they fell 23-20 to
Rivercrest (Wilson, Ark.).
The Colts led 6-0 at halftime, but the Bulldogs regained the lead on a two-point conversion with 1:00 remaining in the third. Rivercrest finally took the lead for good when
Marquez Chew threw a touchdown to
Kani Turner with 2:00 to go in the fourth quarter.
By the end of the third, RHS found itself trailing by three points as Earle captured the lead thanks to three scores in the quarter. EHS scored on a rushing touchdown, a passing touchdown and a two-point conversion in the quarter.
The Wilson school didn't take the lead for good until the the fourth quarter when Chew threw a touchdown to Turner.
With the win the Colts extended their winning streak to four games.
Rivercrest (6-3) will play a 3A Region 3 game against Osceola next week, while Earle (4-5) will take on Manila also in a 3A Region 3 game.
