Volleyball Recap: Munising Victorious

Munising won the last time they faced Newberry, and Olivia Cotey did her part to make sure it happened again. The Mustangs put the hurt on the Indians with a sharp 3-0 win on Tuesday with plenty of help from Cotey, who had 14 digs. She is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had ten or more in each of the last three games she's played dating back to last season.

While Munising might've won, it sure wasn't easy: Newberry scored at least 18 points in every set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-18, 25-22, 27-25.

Munising now has a winning record of 4-3-1. As for Newberry, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 0-2-1.

Coming up, Munising will challenge Carney-Nadeau at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday. After both having extra time off, Newberry and Cedarville will shake off the rust and duke it out at 5:45 p.m. on Tuesday.
