Basketball Recap: Mari'asia Moody's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Loris over Carolina Forest

It was a proper cat-fight when Loris challenged Carolina Forest on Tuesday. The Loris Lions lost to the Carolina Forest Panthers at home by a 56-42 margin. The Lions were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Panthers earlier this season, when they won 39-33.

Loris lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Mari'Asia Moody, who went 6 for 10 on her way to 14 points and five steals. Moody is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed four or more in the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of LaKeya Martin, who posted seven points and five steals.

Miracle Mclean was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 18 points and 17 boards for Carolina Forest. Madisyn Davis was another key player, putting up 14 points along with six steals and five boards.

Loris' loss dropped their record down to 6-3. As for Carolina Forest, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 7-2.

Loris didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 59-32 victory against North Myrtle Beach on the 20th. As for Carolina Forest, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 68-16 win against North Brunswick on the 20th.
