Bristol-Plymouth RVT is preparing for their first league matchup of the season on Monday. They will head out on the road to challenge the Southeastern RVT Hawks at 3:30 p.m. One thing working in Bristol-Plymouth RVT's favor is that they have posted at least ten runs every time they've taken the field this season.
Last Thursday, Bristol-Plymouth RVT made easy work of Durfee and carried off an 18-8 victory. Fans of the Craftsmen have seen this all before: every one of the games they've played this season has ended in a blowout of 6+ runs.
Gabrianna Arrighi spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered eight earned runs on 12 hits and racked up 12 Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than 11 strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Bristol-Plymouth RVT let Izzy Torres and Alexis Courtemanche run wild. Torres went 3-for-5 with four RBI, two runs, and one triple, while Courtemanche went a perfect 4-for-4 with four runs and two doubles. With that strong performance, Courtemanche is now averaging an impressive 2.1 runs per game. Another player making a difference was Jessica Slavick, who went 2-for-5 with three RBI, two runs, and one double.
They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Bristol-Plymouth RVT kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least ten hits every time they've taken the field this season.
Meanwhile, Southeastern RVT won against Upper Cape Cod RVT last Wednesday with 14 runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Thursday. The Hawks put the hurt on Westport with a sharp 14-6 win. With that victory, the Hawks brought their scoring average up to 7.2 runs per game.
Becca Hornung was a major factor no matter where she played. She struck out 12 batters over five innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off five hits. Hornung was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with three RBI, one run, and one double. That double was her first of the season.
In other batting news, Angelica Goodwin was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with four runs, one triple, and one stolen base. That triple marked the first that she has hit this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Abby Spencer, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with two RBI and one run.
The win (which was Southeastern RVT's fourth in a row) raised their record to 4-2. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.0 runs over those games. As for Bristol-Plymouth RVT, their win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 8-0.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Monday as neither team is afraid to steal. Bristol-Plymouth RVT has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.9 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Southeastern RVT struggles in that department as they've been averaging 4.5 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Bristol-Plymouth RVT beat Southeastern RVT 5-0 when the teams last played back in May of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Craftsmen since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
