The Lincoln Lynx pushed their score all the way to 56 on Monday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell 65-56 to St. Albert. While losing is never fun, Lincoln can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Iowa basketball rankings (they are ranked 134th, while the Falcons are ranked 24th).
Despite the defeat, Lincoln saw an underclassman step up: Addie Naughton scored 13 points along with seven assists and seven rebounds. Another player making a difference was Kamryn Hamilton, who scored 13 points.
Lincoln has not been sharp recently as the team's lost six of their last eight matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-8 record this season. As for St. Albert, the win was the 14th in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 15-1.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Lincoln won't have much time to rest: their next match is against the Yellowjackets at 5:30 p.m. on January 30th. Jefferson has now lost seven straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since January 5. As for St. Albert, they won't have much time to rest: their next game is against the Vikings on January 30th. AHSTW is on a four-game streak of home wins, the Falcons a eight-game streak of away wins -- so someone will have to leave a streak behind on the court.
