The Boone Grove Wolves will venture away from home to take on the South Central Satellites at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Boone Grove knows how to get runs on the board -- the squad has finished with ten runs or more in their past three matchups -- so hopefully South Central likes a good challenge.
Boone Grove came out on top against Washington Township on Friday thanks in part to the team's impressive six-run first inning. The Wolves put the hurt on the Senators with a sharp 11-1 victory. That's two games straight that the Wolves have won by exactly ten runs.
Jordyn Botma made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

Like Boone Grove, South Central also got a great game from a two-way player: Maddy Cleek. On the mound, Cleek didn't allow a single earned run over four innings pitched. Meanwhile, Valerie Horne struck out eight batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and not a single walk). At the plate, Cleek went 1-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI, while Horne fired off two home runs and four RBI while going 3-for-4.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Caitlin Allen, who went 3-for-5 with one run and one RBI. Brooke Perriera was another key player, earning two runs and two stolen bases.
The victory got Boone Grove back to even at 8-8. As for South Central, their record is now 8-3-1.
Everything went Boone Grove's way against South Central in their previous meeting back in May of 2024, as Boone Grove made off with an 8-2 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Wolves since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
