On Saturday, it was a hard-fought match, but Rivendell Academy had to settle for a 36-33 defeat against Long Trail.
Despite the defeat, Rivendell Academy saw an underclassman step up: Lily Murray dropped a double-double on 16 points and ten rebounds. That's the first time this season that Murray pulled down eight or more rebounds.
Rivendell Academy's loss dropped their record down to 2-6. As for Long Trail, the win for they keeps them at an undefeated 6-0.
Rivendell Academy will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Arlington Memorial at 7:00 p.m. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in their respective states (Arlington Memorial is ranked 27th in Vermont, while Rivendell Academy is ranked 45th in New Hampshire). As for Long Trail, they will head out on the road to face off against Sharon Academy at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Sharon Academy is coming into the matchup on a five-game losing streak.
