The Chaparral Bobcats will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against the Belton Tigers at 7:00 p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: both teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.
Chaparral can finally bid farewell to their three-game losing streak thanks to their game on Friday. They enjoyed a cozy 85-68 win over Lake Belton. The victory was just what Chaparral needed coming off of a 61-35 loss in their prior contest.
It was another big night for Demarko Williams, who scored 22 points along with eight rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. CJ Norwood was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with seven assists and three steals.
Meanwhile, Belton waltzed into their contest on Friday with two straight wins but they left with three. They came out on top against Killeen by a score of 60-53. Given Belton's advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 110th, while Killeen is ranked 1008th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
The victory got Chaparral back to even at 14-14. As for Belton, they pushed their record up to 22-3 with that win, which was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season.
Chaparral came up short against Belton in their previous meeting back in February of 2023, falling 47-36. Can Chaparral avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
