While losing is never fun, Sheldon can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Missouri basketball rankings (they are ranked 454th, while Chilhowee is ranked 172nd).
When it comes to explaining why Sheldon lost, one person who can't be blamed is Mariam Lamb. Despite the final result, she scored 12 points along with seven rebounds. That was a full 66.7% of Sheldon's points, marking the eighth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Sheldon has not been sharp recently, as they've lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-12 record this season. As for Chilhowee, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 17-3.
Sheldon will head out on the road to challenge Lockwood at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Chilhowee, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Miami at 5:30 p.m.
