Softball Recap: Renton's Losing Streak Is a Thing of the Past

Renton's game on Friday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Monday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 20-18 victory over the Foster Bulldogs. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Red Hawks as it put an end to their five-game losing streak.

Sophina Zebley was incredible, going 4-for-6 with six RBI, one triple, and one run. Those six RBI gave her a new career-high. Elizabeth Richards also deserves some recognition as she hit her first triple of the season.

Renton was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .472. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .333 or higher in seven consecutive matches.

The victory was their first on the road , bumping their record up to 2-14. As for Foster, they have been struggling recently as they've lost nine of their last ten games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-15 record this season.

As of now, neither Renton nor Foster have any future games scheduled.
