Deming came into Saturday's match having lost 27 straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They breezed by the Hatch Valley Bears to the tune of 80-52 on Saturday. The Wildcats' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Deming's win ended a 12-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 1-15. As for Hatch Valley, they dropped their record down to 5-8 with the loss, which was their fifth straight on the road.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Deming has already played their next contest (against Da Vinci), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Hatch Valley will head out on the road to face off against Tularosa at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Tularosa knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past three games -- so hopefully Hatch Valley likes a good challenge.
